Extending the ongoing revitalisation works in the bustling World Square precinct, the upgraded lobby at 680 George St adds layers of comfort to the commercial building’s arrival, contrasting the existing grid structure and encouraging people to linger longer in an active and inviting destination.

Without major reworking, the redesigned lobby extends the use of the building beyond a simple thoroughfare – becoming a light, bright and spacious environment, prioritising comfort, interaction and respite. Texture and warmth were introduced while retaining much of the original materiality, pairing timber panelling and soft seating options to the robust and timeless aesthetic of the predominantly travertine base building palette.
