dependency suites over four floors, with each floor divided into two ‘households’. This creates smaller communities that staff find easier to manage, without compromising on the importance of social interaction for residents.
+ A quarter of the suites are dedicated to those with dementia, with 20 independent living units

Set within an ocean-side heritage site, this age-friendly community in Cottesloe aims to revolutionise elderly care by providing residences of exceptional quality in a world-class setting.
Marine Views enables quality of care and flexibility to keep residents and caregivers safe while balancing design solutions that protect and promote residents and staff’s social and mental wellness.
Stage 1 features 20 deluxe retirement residences and a state-of-the-art residential aged care facility with 128 high-care suites.
The design is centred around creating a sense of place and nostalgia, both of which are carefully balanced through texture, colour and the familiar characteristics of the Cottesloe community.
The material palette, informed by the identity of Cottesloe homes, draws on the rich blue hues of the Indian Ocean, dusky orange and pink sunsets, rippling waves, sun-bleached timber and native greens. These elements combine to create casual and intimate settings that are light-filled and calm.
A subsequent stage will soon see the addition of a further 56 retirement units, along with a range of amenities for the wider community, including a café, art precinct, medical centre and community meeting amenities.
The project was constructed by Built with Hames Sharley as the detailed design, construction, and delivery architect and interior designer. GKA was the concept and initial design architect for the project.
