Delivered for the City of Playford (YMCA tenant), the Elizabeth Aquadome comprised of an extensive renovation and addition to the existing facility, which had fallen into a state of disrepair. The scope of works included major refurbishment works to the existing 50 m pool and included a partially new water treatment plant, a new wet edge drainage system, entry ramp and re-tiling of the entire pool. A new water slide suspended from the existing structure was incorporated into the new design and procured as part of a design and construct package. Also included was a new 25m teaching pool with beach entry and interactive water features to enable engagement with a wider segment of users.
Hames Sharley delivered this project as the principal consultant in a joint venture with Suters Prior Cheney Architects. (Melbourne)
