In an article by Fast Company, the installation is said to craft a “natural, serene atmosphere”, with the sounds of bird calls reflecting the lighting and the tree itself minimalist in design – with no sight of ornaments, angels or strands of light.
“Along with a baby pine tree that sparkles under a spotlight in the corner, the installation features light boxes with glowing photographs of a snowy wonderland along with cast models of Scots pine and a canopy of real pine branches,” the article’s author Katharine Schwab writes.
This is the seventh year Claridge’s has invited famous designers and brands to re-imagine the Christmas tree and their lobby. Jony is the first designer, outside of the fashion world asked to participate.
