Safety trumps all, according to a new US-based poll about what makes people happy where they live. Richard Florida, editor of CityLabs, reports that alongside the need for food and shelter, people rank feeling safe higher above other factors such as the quality of water and air.
The poll shows that, overall, suburbanites are happy with where they live. And whilst affordability is hotly debated, it doesn’t correlate to how people feel about their community.
