Loxton High School STEM Upgrade
- Client:
- DECD Department of Education and Child Development
- Location:
- Loxton, South Australia
- Features:
- New STEM Building and exterior decking
Existing space adjacent the school’s oval was utilised through the development of a new STEM Hub. This new building provides a visual and circulatory link between existing classrooms and the schools oval and recreational area. The new Hub’s construction reflects the harshness of Loxton’s climate and works with it. The building has mostly solid masses on the north, east and west facades and a transparent glass heavy south façade. The interior of the building however, is very open and transparent to allow for the open learning environment that reflects the STEM learning pedagogy.
