Hames Sharley’s designs for Queensland’s Albion Exchange been appeared in the press this week as various media outlets have reported on the practice’s architectural vision for the $750 million transit oriented development.
The project has been lauded as an exemplar for improving community connections and has been widely acknowledged for setting a new design precedent for one of Brisbane’s most historic yet fastest-growing suburbs.
Hames Sharley Principal Jason Preston is spearheading the project work on stage one of Geon Property’s 10-stage 3.5-hectare masterplan, (in partnership with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, and Queensland Rail).
“As part of this initial stage, we are seeking to deliver – pending council approval – two residential towers featuring 309 apartments, a podium-level retail and commercial hub located above the existing Albion train station, and high-quality pedestrian and cyclist-friendly public spaces,” Mr Preston said.
