The state-of-the art emergency department includes multiple patient resuscitation and treatment areas as well as the ability to accommodate paediatric patients. A short-stay unit has been provided within the department to accommodate a number of people requiring observation during treatment. A transit lounge incorporating beds and chairs provides direct access for transportation of patients.
The self-contained endoscopy unit comprises two endoscopy procedure rooms (theatres), pre-procedure and post-operative recovery areas (three-stage recovery), outpatient consult rooms, reception and admissions area, change rooms/ensuites, procedure support areas and necessary ancillary areas to function independently to the main hospital and existing theatres.
